On June 1, 2014 RFSL Stockholm and RFSL started the collaborative project named Funkisprojektet (The Functionality project). The Functionality project is about norms related to functional capacity and LGBTQ rights.
The background to the project is the study Funkis Report “and never shall the two meet” which RFSL Stockholm released in 2013. It is based on previous studies and experiences on how norms are expressed in different LSS (an Act on support and service for people with disabilities) activities, disability organizations in particular and society in general, as well as interviews with people who identify as LGBTQ and who have different functional variations.
We want the project to create better conditions and treatment for LGBTQ people with experience of different functional variations, both in RFSL’s activities, disability organizations and within the LSS activities.
